how much of a BR do u need to start with?

Just curious how this works. Would be neat to check out some sites and learn how the players play without making a big $ commitment. Can you send me more information on this? I mess around on smaller stake games (play loose) but I have a tighter than tight prop game when needed. How long can you play "rake free" for if you did this?
